Dear Editor
Mr. Freddie Kissoon says he does not care what I write and does not pay heed to my writings. Yet he repeatedly brings my name up in his columns, most recently on Aug 2 in “Denouement of Physical Extremism”. He probably has nightmares thinking of me because I keep exposing his misunderstanding of theories and misapplications of concepts. Kissoon was responding to Ravi Dev’s column of Jul 31 on extremist violence. Why did he find it necessary to make intemperate comments about me? Of what relevance is my name in his reply to Dev? Clearly, Kissoon is engaged in what in the media is known as trolling.
He is looking for a controversy to gain attention because he can’t respond in a debate with facts.
Kissoon says “Dev is not a Vishnu Bisram …”. He adds: “If Dev continues in this vein, then unfortunately, he may end like a Vishnu Bisram …”. Kissoon does not explain what he means in both comments. But I think he means Dev will become more honest.
Dev is an intellectual without comparison in Guyana and his column is read by everyone who reads KN. In fact, people buy KN on Sundays just to read Dev’s column. Dev is honest and forthright about his beliefs and views, qualities lacking in Kissoon.
When you read Dev, his analysis is complete and thorough and you know what he is writing about. When you read Kissoon, you want to know what is he talking about, does he understand what he reads, etc. He just rambles on and on … with the same thing.
