Police in ‘B’ Division on Friday afternoon, acting on information, pounced on a group of six men at the Tucber, New Amsterdam backlands. A Taurus Revolver was also found in the men’s possession.
Among the men in custody is wanted Rose Hall Police Outpost escapee, 36- year- old David Andrews, of Lot 155 Williamsburg Squatting Area, Corentyne.
David Andrews was one the five men detained in May last year when a mobile patrol, operating in the Rose Hall Town area, intercepted a car, HB 7759, in the vicinity of Cemetery Road, Rose Hall about 06:15 hours.
A random search of the vehicle had unearthed an unlicensed .38 revolver, two toque masks with eye-holes and six live nine millimeter rounds of ammunition.
At the time of his escape on May 22, 2010, Andrews was in a cell with the driver of the car, HB 7759.
The other prisoner (driver) appeared to be asleep. The cell is situated within the kitchen area of the one-flat building at the Rose Hall Town Police Outpost.
