Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon recently advised that Cabinet has offered its ‘no objection’ to six contracts in the housing and water, agriculture, security, and public works sectors.
For the Agriculture sector, $41.2M was granted for the Supply, delivery and installation of laboratory equipment for the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute’s seed germoplast, plant diagnostic, soil chemistry and micro biology laboratories.
In the Housing and Water sector, $187.9M was granted for the ongoing construction of roads for community projects in Region Five- Bath, Woodley Park. Meanwhile $16.3M is slated for upgrading of roads at Dazzell Housing Scheme, Region Four. This is in addition to $162.2M for the procurement of construction services for the rehabilitation of community roads in Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo- Region Three
In the security sector, $77.6M was allotted for the procurement of motor vehicles for the Guyana Police Force and Prison Service. And for Public Works $39.3M was granted for the acquisition and supply of spares for the ‘Steve N’.
