May 29, 2011 Letters
Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter from Mr. Devanand Bhagwan in your May 27 edition in which he claims that I know of him. I have never met or was introduced to or have ever seen a person by that name. I don’t know anyone by that name except that signature appears on letters over the past years very critical of me.
If it helps Bhagwan’s ego to say we know each other, then why should anyone stop him from pursuing his imagination? I do not give even an infinitesimal fraction of a thought to what Bhagwan, Vishnu Bisram or Joey Jagan write about me. To use a worn out hackneyed phrase – “it comes with the territory.”
I have been in the public domain since I was 16 years of age. In that long period of public activism, I have encountered hundreds of Bhagwans, Bisrams and Jagans. It will not end so I couldn’t be bothered.
I know what I am supposed to do with my life and I am doing it. The Bhagwans, Bisrams and Jagans do not occupy and will not occupy my thoughts.
All I know of this man is that he sees only Frederick Kissoon as a person to criticise. In fact he can only cite two letters that he wrote that were not on Frederic Kissoon.
If he said he has written on other subjects other than Frederick Kissoon then his memory has failed him. He should tell us how many letters he wrote on Frederick Kissoon. But obviously, he isn’t going to do that because it will reveal that he is in the same company with Bisram and Jagan.
Bhagwan wants Christopher Ram to ask me why I cuss down those I disagree with. Any Guyanese can see what type of man Bhagwan is. Why leave out mention of the President and pick on me. The Head of State is known for cussing down his detractors but Bhagwan finds time to single out Frederick Kissoon.
Bhagwan has a low standard by which he judges his friends. Look who he looks up to – Jagan and Bisram. Let us start with Joey Jagan. Which sane human being is going to vote for Joey Jagan?
This man a few months ago went on public radio as the guest of Mark Benschop and told listeners that if he becomes President he would expel any Guyanese who criticises his father, Dr. Cheddi Jagan.
Can any Guyanese be more stupid than that? This is a man who got up at a pubic function to launch a book by Dr. Baytoram Ramharack and was featured in all the media houses as saying he would slap me and Dr. Ramharack for criticising his father.
Even a rebuke by the Guyana Press Association did not result in an apology. But more horrifying than that he went on CN Sharma TV and repeated the same atrocity
This same Joey Jagan can often be seen on CN Sharma channel calling people rats and dogs. In one of the programmes, the caller appeared to be Jinnah Rahaman. He told the man that; “You are a rat, my father fed you.” Tune into channel 6 any day and see comedy on display with Joey Jagan and CN Sharma.
The funniest thing about the programme is Jagan’s extremely dark sunshades that hide his perennial red eyes.
Dental technician, Cobeer Persaud than runs a large clinic at Peter’s Hall played a tape for the media in which Jagan was extremely threatening and rude over Persaud’s employment of a Columbian dentist.
This writer has the tape. Would Bhagwan like to hear it? In one instance, Jagan was heard telling Persaud; “You know who is my mother.” Maybe Bhagwan should ask his hero why the JOPP and the AFC wouldn’t touch Joey Jagan with a 10 feet pole. The answer is simple – they are intelligent people.
Jagan’s newly found friend is the editor of the SN, who continues to carry three letters a week by Jagan, but completely shuts out a patriotic citizen like Malcolm Harripaul. I wrote Mr. Persaud and asked him if he can explain that policy, he didn’t reply. Harripaul said he didn’t respond to him either.
The editor doesn’t reply to anyone. Maybe Harripaul should seek the assistance of the chairman of the Stabroek’s board, Ian Mc Donald or the evergreen elitist lawyer, Miles Fitzpatrick, co-founder of the SN.
Look who is another hero of Bhagwan, Vishu Bisram. For years Bisram has been perpetuating a circus and fraud on the Guyanese media. He invented a fictional organisation named NACTA and claimed that it is an international polling institution.
At the same time Bisram told readers he is a school teacher in New York. Not realising his stupidity, he would tell readers how often he travels to dozens of countries around the world all the time. Not remembering that he should be in school teaching.
No one in the world knows who or what is NACTA. The polls were all fictional. And Mr. Bisram got away with it for over five years. All the polls put the PPP and Mr. Jagdeo on top.
The same SN editor was the biggest facilitator of Bisram. Bisram has now been exposed. There is no NACTA and thus the fictional polls have come to an end.
Unless Mr. Bhagwan wants to join Bisram and Jagan and continue the charade. But the independent press is not going to carry any NACTA poll. The Chronicle and Guyana Times will.
Finally for the negative person, Bhagwan has painted me as for all these years he certainly has more than a passing interest in.
The man refers to articles I have written that I can’t even remember. Keep reading, Bhagwan. You may learn a few values from me.
Frederick Kissoon
