Four bandits were caught on security cameras carting off $8M in electronic items from Riaz Computer Centre at 105 Regent Road, Bourda in the wee hours of Monday morning.
Reports indicate that around 3:00hrs Monday bandits clipped the telephone wires to the building, disabling the network connections and security system. Police visited the scene and took statements.
According to proprietor of the business, Rafeek Khan, the men knew what they were after since specific items were taken.
These included about 30 laptops, 20 cameras, and multiple flat screen televisions among other electronic items.
He also revealed that the business was supposed to launch a special promotion yesterday where free electronic items and $105,000 in prizes were to be given away to customers.
He estimated his loss in the vicinity of $8M. Stocktaking is yet to reveal the exact amount.
