Welder critical after fall from high-rise building
A man is critical after falling several stories from a high-rise building under construction at the corner of Regent and Camp Streets, opposite the City Mall, last evening.
The man identified as Nidol Pompey is employed as a welder at the construction site.
Pompey was rushed in an unconscious state to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he spent a few minutes before being rushed off to a private hospital in the city by relatives.
According to reports, the man is not able to feel in the lower half of his body and was continuously groaning for pains.
Reports are that while falling, Pompey came in contact with scaffolds erected alongside the building.
