In life each person constructs a model of reality that allows them to survive in the world. Unfortunately, the undertrained mind usually has a tendency to overestimate their ability as a result of their ego; thus denying themselves the opportunity to do the right thing.
When one reads President Jagdeo’s statement that, “sugar would be dead without the political commitment of his administration”, one walks away from the Enmore event very clear in their mind that Guyana will continue to be blighted once this Jagdeo cabal remains.
What this cabal is doing to Guyana is plain wrong. They overestimate their own abilities and are using Guyana as their experiment in poor leadership, to hide the reality that they are poor leaders. Donald Ramotar’s has built his executive track record at GuySuCo between the years 1992 to 2011.
What has happened at GuySuCo is a direct result of his inability to lead. The sugar belt has been in a meltdown since 2004 and who was in charge? Not the AFC!
The truth is Ramotar is just not ready to lead Guyana and just like his political sponsor, he will continue to “muck up” Guyana and who loses? Not Jagdeo, but the people. Don’t these people have a conscious to recognise their inabilities?
How many have read President Jagdeo’s speech to the opening of the 2006 Parliament? How many knows about his personal attacks on anyone who exposes his incompetence? When did the question of managing the affairs of Guyana move from delivering on the President’s unkept promises to attacking people who expose the truth? Can we all now understand why at every opportunity, a Guyanese march to the nearest exit route out of Guyana? This is a clear message that the people have no faith in the stewardship of the Jagdeo/Ramotar cabal and are voting with their feet, just like how they did under Burnham?
Unfortunately, as we in the AFC have seen first hand, whenever the Jagdeo cabal deceives, it is not an offence committed against Ramjattan, but an offence against the working people. Every time a pharmaceutical contract is massage in favour of a business buddy, it is the Guyanese people who lose. Every time a man, who never even built a concrete passageway, is given a US$15 million forest road contract, it is the people who lose.
That is why the AFC message resonates so well with the working people of Guyana. We in the AFC along with the independent media must continue to expose the PPP mischief and this clearly makes the ruling cabal uncomfortable and very dangerous. We can now understand why the spy equipment is being used by the Spy Agency to hack into the emails of AFCites. Let us put them on notice, the righteous forces will not be browbeaten by the unrighteous forces; we are going to expose them at every opportunity we get. We are now commencing proceeding to share this information with the FBI as a result of the federal offence where they violated the privacy of emails originating out of the USA.
Let us see which Guyanese President will wear an FBI bangle in the future. Remember Manuel Noriega?
The Jagdeo cabal is trying their very best to prevent the exposure of their lies and deception since it is in their vested interest that the people not know the truth. Once the truth is revealed, enough people will be angry enough to demand a permanent change in Guyana, regardless of the actions of the cabal. With change then it is easy to confiscate that $300 million Pradoville house and turn it into a half way house for sexually abused children. Assurance have been given that no global power will “bat an eye lid” when that happens.
As a snippet of how the cabal is taking the people on a fantasy ride, this is what President Jagdeo said when he opened parliament in 2006, and I quote, “my Government will continue the relentless fight against corruption and an unequivocal subscription to transparency and accountability in the affairs of Government”. What a joke, more words but none of it reconciles to the reality in the Government. Skeldon Sugar Factory, Amaila Falls Road, Marriot Hotel, World Cup Cricket, Carifesta, Laptop Project, IT Cable Project, Angostura/CLICO molasses deal, procurement of pharmaceutical products, Lotto funds, non transparent sale of state assets to friends of the regime, among scores of other examples are clear key indicators of the extent of the corruption in the regime.
Their track record is nothing but well grounded in opaqueness and unaccountability. The latest estimate of the corruption dividend that leaks to private pockets is $10 billion per year. Can we understand why it is so easy for a semi-pauper 15 years ago to now build a $300 million house with liquid cash?
Why do you think it is so easy for the AFC to march into former PPP stronghold like Albion, Enmore and Richmond Hill and be so welcomed? The greediness is so pervasive that not even the crumbs are being left for the working people these days. What we in the AFC have been telling the people on the ground is that the year 2011 is the year to do something about all the lies and deception. Something has to be done about all these sheep in wolf clothing that sucks the treasury dry like a hungry baby on a nursing bottle.
After the second drafting of the US Constitution, Benjamin Franklin was questioned by a young woman who asked, “Mr. Franklin, what manner of Government have you bequeathed us”. Franklin replied “a Republic”. He further stated that “the responsibility of a country is not in the hands of a privileged few, but in the hands of the people”. He made it clear that “the people have a responsibility to make their society strong and free from tyranny”.
I would like to remind every citizen, newspapers and civic organization, it is your duty to report on the shady deals and financial waste that is common place in the regime. Democracy is not a free ride, it is hard work but the returns are very gratifying.
Let us hope the people do the hard work and free themselves from the mental slavery that the PNC and PPP perpetuated for the last 50 years, in their mind by way of their ethnic security fears. The time is now for the people to speak up, shut the racist organisations down, come out to the AFC protest actions and not be afraid. In large enough numbers, the righteous forces will push the Berlin Wall of fear, tyranny and oppression down.
