– Former NBA Assistant Coach headed to Guyana
The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) and the International Olympic Solidarity (IOC) will be hosting an International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Level I Coaches’ Clinic in Guyana, May 23-30 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
According to President of the GABF, David Patterson, who indicated that Guyana should make good use of this opportunity, United States-based former National Basketball Association (NBA) Assistant Head Coach, Tom Newell will conduct the clinic.
“On the successful completion of the clinic, coaches will be given an internationally recognized
FIBA Level I Certificate,” a release stated yesterday, adding that the GABF hereby invites those eligible coaches within sub-associations to be part of the workshop.
Coaches or individuals interested in the clinic can register through GABF General Secretary, Ian La Fargue or email [email protected].
The circular was clear that spaces for the clinic will be reserved on a first-come basis for the first 40 applicants.
