Out- of-control car causes four-vehicle smash-up at Montrose

Doctors at the Georgetown Hospital had their hands full last night battling to save the life of a 70- year -old man who suffered severe injuries as a result of a four vehicle crash on the Montrose Public Road East Coast Demerara.
Kaieteur News understands that the man whose name was given as Robert White, of Bel Air Gardens, sustained broken arms and legs and was listed as critical up to press time last night.
Eyewitnesses said that motorcar PFF 4740 was heading towards the city when the driver attempted to turn into Broad Street, Montrose and lost control of his vehicle.
The car struck White and spun out of control, causing panic among other motorists who were coming behind.
This newspaper was told that the driver of the car was speeding and somehow lost control.
Three other vehicles, including a Raum, an AT 212, and an AT 170 were hit by the same car.

Kaieteur News was told that the driver of the car that caused the accident fled the scene immediately after and up to late last night had not presented himself to the police.
Investigations are ongoing.
