Race car driver Ryon Gayadin is ready for the impending battle in Group 3 even if it means a ding dong clash with his brother Gavin when the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri comes to life tomorrow with the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club international Race meet.
Speaking with members of the media shortly before a trip to Timehri to do some testing of his car, Gayadin explained that they were doing some fine tuning of various parts of the machine with the hope of the car working perfectly to ensure a high class performance and also challenge for the top podium spot.
Ryon noted that he is looking forward to doing well under the new Team Xtreme banner, noting that this event was a bit more hyped than in the past due to several factors. He informed there were more tuners in the country this time around than in previous years.
The re-laid track is smoother and will see less tyre wear and drivers are expected to power their vehicles earlier, which is expected to result in faster lap times.
Yesterday they looked at the performance of his car’s engine and suspension and other things as the tuners sought to get the car ready for today’s time trials. Ryon informed that his team of mechanics has been working since last November at getting the car right. In total, purchasing and the work to get the car right has gobbled up over US$50,000 the race car driver disclosed when questioned.
Asked about the rivalry with his brother, Ryon indicated that he was there to challenge for the top spot and when it comes to his brother, “…we will see Sunday.”
Motor racing fans can expect the speed aces to go full throttle as they look to out do each other on a much improved South Dakota track, compliments of President Jagdeo and the government.
Today the venue will be a buzz as the drivers and riders look to secure the best starting grid positions at the time trials for tomorrow’s grand day of racing.
