St Aloysius win Inter Primary school football competition in Berbice

St Aloysius Primary was adjudged winners at the end of the one day Inter Primary School football competition which was played recently in New Amsterdam at the Scott Church Ground Princess Elizabeth Road.
The competition, which was organized by the Hearts of Oak Masters Football Club, was played on a round Robin basis and saw four of the six invited schools participating.
The schools participating were St Aloysius, All Saints Primary, St Therese Primary and New Amsterdam Primary.
Results of the matches played were: All Saints Primary defeat N/A Primary 3-0; St Aloysius won from St Therese Primary 2-1; All Saints and St Therese played to 0-0 draw. St Aloysius edged N/A primary 1-0. All Saint Primary and St Aloysius Primary battled to 0-0 draw, while in the final game, the St
Therese and NA Primary duel also ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
At the end of the competition the respective winners were presented with trophies, they were St Aloysius Primary first, All Saints Primary second, St Therese Primary third and New Amsterdam Primary fourth.
The individual prize winners were also presented with trophies – Joshua Butts of St Aloysius Primary he received two awards for being the Most Valuable Player on show and also scoring the most Goals. The Best Goalkeeper prize went to Akaini Anthony of All Saints Primary.
The Most promising player on show was Kevin Hamilton also of All Saints Primary.
Shaquan Durant of St Therese primary won the special penalty shoot out that was held after. Dwaine Alleyne of the same school placed second. They received medals.
The Competition was sponsored by Businessman Roy Hanoman and family and was coordinated by Neil ‘Grizzly’ Humphrey and Nigel ‘Busit’ Felix. Randy ‘Blades’ Sears was the referee.
