Dec 12, 2010 Letters
Dear Editor,
I totally agree with A. Colin’s letter 10/10/2010 who, no doubt is an animal lover. I was looking for a written article introducing this initiative, but all I saw was a picture of four huge “Terminator” type trucks and the caption, “Strays Beware”.
This to me sounded like “Kick Ass” time for poor stray animals, but hope I am wrong in my thinking; after all, Guyana is not a country of animal lovers by the majority and even those animals that provide a service to their owners are mistreated, and all I can visualise is these poor animals being manhandled and beaten to get into these trucks and God knows what will pursue once captured.
Even with domesticated cats and dogs, they get traumatised when they have to be taken to the Vet for check-ups, etc., in a car or cat carrier in which they have to be shoved into. Yes, I hope the GSPCA’s expertise will be sought in this, which is a good initiative.

Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
