The 3rd annual Carib/Pepsi T20 cricket tournament bowls off today at the Guyana National Stadium from 15: 00hrs with the Gajanand Singh led rest team taking on Essequibo who will be captained by Norman Fredericks.
The Rest team has been added to this year’s tournament after just the three counties, Berbcie, Demerara and Essequibo contested for top honours last year.
Defending champions Berbice, Captained by Assad Fudadin, will battle Demerara in a repeat of the last final in the second match of today’s ‘double header’ under lights from 17:00hrs and admission is free.
The action continues tomorrow at the same venue when Berbice face Essequibo from 15:00hrs and the Rest team take on Demerara from 17:00hrs.
The preliminary rounds conclude on Saturday with Demerara battling Essequibo and the Rest team taking on Berbice.
The top two teams will clash in the final from 17:00hrs next Friday while the other two teams will battle from 15:00hrs in the 3rd place match.
