For the second time this year, popular Kaieteur News columnist Freddie Kissoon came under physical attack, this time by the proprietor of the National Hardware Limited, Eddie Boyer.
Kissoon was at the time in one of Boyer’s store at Industrial Site Ruimveldt making a purchase.
According to reports, Boyer, a close associate of President Bharat Jagdeo, went up to Kissoon and made some disparaging remarks about Kissoon and the publisher of the Kaieteur News to which Kissoon calmly responded.
But Boyer was not satisfied and proceeded to point his fingers in Kissoon’s face before chucking him twice.
The incident occurred in the full view of employees of the store as well as customers.
The matter was first reported to police Divisional Commander Assistant Commissioner George Vyphuis who advised Kissoon to make an official report, which was done.
