Twenty four (24) races are carded for the day when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) stages the third and final leg of the Seaboard Marine Caribbean International Race Meet which is scheduled to be held on November 7, at the South Dakota Circuit.
There will be three races each for the Rookies, Group 2A cars, Group 2B cars, Lightweight Motorcycles, Superbikes and the Shifter 125cc Go-Karts. The GP3 and GP4 races will be merged to form one huge race with two chequered flags.
In addition there will be three races to conclude the third and final round of the 2010 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship Group 4 series featuring the super cars of the region. Drivers from Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana will be representing their respective countries.
Team Jamaica will be represented by David Summerbell Jnr. (Mitsubishi Evolution), Doug “Hollywood Gore (Mitsubishi Evolution) and Peter Rae (Mazda RX7)
Team Barbados will be represented by Mark Maloney (Mazda RX3), Roger Mayers (Ford Focus), Stuart Williams (Lotus Elise) and Douglas Maloney (Audi Quattro)
Team Guyana will be represented by Andrew King (Mazda RX7), Kevin Jeffrey (Mitsubishi Evolution) Paul Vieira (Mazda RX7), Mark Vieira (Mazda RX8) and Shawn King (Mazda RX7)
With two rounds completed (the first meet was held in Jamaica at the Dover Raceway and the second at the Bushy Park Raceway in Barbados) the 2010 Seaboard Marine CMRC Group 4 points standings are as follows:
David Summerbell of Jamaica: 56 points
Kevin Jeffrey of Guyana: 44 points
Peter Rae of Jamaica: 42 points
Paul Vieira of Guyana: 34
Mark Maloney of Guyana: 30 points
Barry Mayers of Barbados: 28 points
Mark Vieira of Guyana: 22 points
Andrew King of Guyana: 10 points
Shawn King of Guyana: 8 points
In the country points standing, Guyana leads with 124 points, Jamaica is second with 118 points and the Barbados trails with 83 points.
The Superbikes are also part of the 2010 Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship Series. Team Guyana riders Stephen Vieira and Kevin Graham competed in events held in Jamaica and in Barbados earlier this year.
Team Guyana’s Kevin Graham leads the 2010 Seaboard Marine Superbike Class with 50 points followed by Stephen Vieira on 45 points.
For the first time ever a Group 2 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship Series was officially sanctioned by the CMRC governing body. The first CMRC GP2 race took place in Barbados at the Bushy Park Raceway on August 30th. 2010. Jad Rahaman was the sole reprehensive for Team Guyana.
Team Barbados was represented by Kenrick Husbands, Edward Corbin, Jason Harewood and Mark Thompson. The point standings for the Seaboard Marine Group 2 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship are as follows:
Edward Corbin of Barbados: 30 points
Kenrick Husbands of Barbados: 24 points
Mark Thompson of Barbados: 17 points
Jad Rahaman of Guyana: 16 points
Barbados leads the 2010 Seaboard Marine Group 2 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship with 71 points, Guyana has 17 points.
