Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) yesterday presented a quantity of Gatorade to the Japan Karate Association/World Federation Guyana (JKA/WFG) for the hosting of their annual National Karate Championships.
Brands Executive, Alexis Crawford, made the presentation while reiterating her company’s corporate and social responsibility and continued commitment to the development of sports in Guyana.
She also urged the public, especially the private sector, to get involved with donations or sponsorships of this sport since it develops discipline, respect and encourages the practitioners to seek perfection of character.
Christopher Chaves, President of the JKA/WFG, in accepting the donation thanked DDL for the kind gesture and noted that this is a very important tournament. He stated that the winners of this tournament will go on to represent Guyana in the US next year.
He also urged the public to come out and support the tournament tomorrow at the National Gymnasium from 10:00hrs.
