Dear Editor,
It has been over six months since the construction of two bridges on the East Coast Demerara (Annandale/Buxton) have started, but the completion of this project is no where in sight. This has caused heavy traffic build up, especially in the morning and afternoon during the rush hours. Because of this, vehicles are diverted to the Railway Embankment Access Road to avoid the heavy congestion at the bridges and as such many commuters are forced to walk far distances to their homes.
It’s amazing the length of time these two bridges are taking to be completed. Another bridge at Vigilance is now in the process of being re-built which will add more delay and confusion to residents.
Can the minister in charge of this project investigate the slowness of the process?
