Schoolchildren injured in minibus accident

Minibus BLL 8455 and taxi HB 5524 collided on Walker Terrace in Costello Housing Scheme, causing the minibus filled with schoolchildren to topple.
Three of the seriously injured children were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The police intervened and the two vehicles along with the drivers were taken to the East La Penitence Police station.
According to eyewitnesses, the taxi was heading east and the minibus which took the wrong route was travelling north along Walker Terrace when they collided at the intersection.
He explained that the car which had the right of way slammed into the minibus that did not stop at the corner.
