The Outer Circuit of the National Park will come alive once again for cyclists on Sunday October 3 when the Continental Cycle Club brings off the 4th annual Max Pereira and Marlis Archer Memorial Cycling Meet.
Sponsored by the Alliance for Change (AFC), a total of ten (10) races are listed for the day’s activity which commences at 09:00hrs and ends at 14:00hrs. Cash prizes will be at stake for all the races with a lien trophy also being up for grabs in the feature 15 laps contest.
The events listed are as follows: junior/juveniles (5 laps); category 1&2 and 3&4 (7 laps), females (3 laps); veterans under 45 and over 45 (3 laps each); mountain and upright (3 laps); BMX (6-9 years) from GDF to finish line outside NIS; BMX 9-12 (1 lap); BMX 12-14 (1 lap); open category (15 laps).
A lap of honour would be done at the start of the day’s activities in remembrance of the late young rider Vivekanand Rudradeo who lost his life at the hands of a reckless driver whilst training one year ago on the East Coast road.
Sunday’s event is opened to all riders.
