Could the ‘Golden Jaguars’ emulate Earl O’Neil’s men
On September 26 Guyana National Senior Football team will engage Trinidad & Tobago Soca Warriors at the Providence National Stadium.
The million dollar question being asked is whether Howard Lowe’s men could become the second National Football Team to defeat the Soca warriors? The last time Guyana beat Trinidad and Tobago was September 1977 at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground, the Earl O’Neal led squad won 2-1 courtesy of a Trinidadian own goal and a Patrick Labba Barton Thunder Bolt Penalty.
Trinidad and Tobago also defeated Guyana July 1984 2 Nil at GCC Bourda, goal scorers were Nevic Denoon and Morris Aliby.

The Paul Farrell led squad won 2-1 in the opening round of the CFU Youth Championship in Port of Spain.
Guyana also brush aside the Netherland Antilles 2-1 but suffered loses to CONCACAF Power Houses Mexico 2 Nil and Canada 2 Nil.
