The latest corporate entities to lend financial support to the upcoming International Friendly matches between Guyana’s senior ‘Golden Jaguars’ and Trinidad and Tobago’s ‘Soca Warriors’
are Cummings Electrical and BK International.
Yesterday at the Water Chris International Hotel, Quamina and Waterloo Streets, Michael Cummings, Managing Director of Cummings Electrical handed over the contributions for both companies stating that they have always been very supportive of football in Guyana.
“On behalf of Cummings Electrical and BK International I am proud to hand over these cheques to Mr. Major for the games against Trinidad and Tobago on the 26th. We trust that it will go a far way in promoting the games and making it a success for Guyana. Both companies will continue to support and do its bit for the continued development of the game in Guyana.”
Coordinator Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major expressed gratitude to Cummings and BK International for their support and promised that the ‘Golden Jaguars’ will do Guyana proud on the 26th.
Both Guyana and T&T will be using these games as warm up leading to the Digicel Caribbean Championships and CFU World Under-20 qualifying competition both beginning next month.
Guyana will contest Group C of the Digicel Caribbean Championships in Suriname from October 13-17. The other countries drawn ion this group are St. Lucia and the Netherlands Antilles.
Trinidad will host stage 2 (Group F) of the competition from November 2-6 which will also feature Haiti along with the winner and runner-up of Group C.
