Battle for 2010 honours commence on Saturday; 4 matches slated

The much anticipated Busta Champion of Champions 50 overs knock-out cricket competition organised by the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club is set to bowl off on Saturday with four matches across the Ancient County of Berbice.
The tournament, in its 6th year and sponsored by the Guyana Beverage Inc. under the Busta brand was slated to bowl off in July but the rainy season forced the organisers to postpone the action.
Defending champions Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets (RHTG&G) will entertain a young Bermine team at the Area ‘H’ Ground. The home team will be without the services of Esuan Crandon, Royston Crandon and Assad Fudadin (on duty with Guyana) but they will still start as favourites with players the caliber of Delbert Hicks, Renwick Batson, Jason Sinclair, Khemraj Mahadeo, Troy Mathieson, Dominic Rickie, Shawn Perreira and Lloydel Lewis.
Bermine would demand heavily on Julian Moore, Devon Clements, Eugene La Fleur and Joemal La Fleur.
West Berbice will square off with Blairmont at Blairmont Community Centre Ground, West Coast Berbice with the visitors having Keon Fraser, Krisendat Ramoo, Keyron Fraser, Kwesi Mentore, Keith Fraser and Sherwin McPherson in their lineup.
Blairmont, still in the process of rebuilding their team and would depend on the services of Romain Boodram, Nedesh Basdeo, Neil Singh and Karamdat Bissoondyal.
At the Cumberland Ground in Canje, Young Warriors will welcome Rose Hall, Canje. Leading Young Warriors is Seon Hetmyer who will be backed up by Anil Beharry, Shimron Hetmyer, Ishwar Singh, Farouk Hussain and the dangerous hard hitting opener Maxie De Jonge.
Rose Hall Canje in their quest for a win will turn for inspiration from Romesh Munna, Sasenarine Sookdeo, Vishal Mohabir, Videsh Singh, Raid Ally and Kevin Ramdeen.
Port Mourant Karibee Rice Cricket Club will start with home advantage against visitors Police.
The home team will be spearheaded by Rajiv Ivan with the likes of Homchand Pooran, Moshin Perkhan, Steve Latcha and Zaheer Khan adding depth.
Police’s challenge will centre on Michael Newland, Albert Sinclair, Kellon Henry and Cyrus Gibson who will have their work cut out against the solid home team.
Matches bowls off at 09.30hrs and teams would be outfitted in Busta colored tee shirts provided by the sponsors.
