The Rising Sun Turf Club is at it again with yet another Charity Horse Race meet. This time the benevolent organisation is teaming up with Friends of Rising Sun Charity Organisation of Guyana and has quickly put together an impressive package, organising a grand nine event meeting for Sunday September 19 at the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park, West Coast, Berbice.
There are a number of co-feature events on the days’ card namely with the C and lower, the 3 yr old, the 2 yr old and the F and G class races highlighting the days activities.
The feature B class event has a first prize of $400,000 and will see the horses galloping over a distance of 1400M.
$250,000 is the winning prize in the three year old event over 1100M for horses Bred and Born in Guyana and the West Indies. The two year old event for horses of similar stature goes over similar distance with the first prize tagged at $ 200,000. There is a race for Guyana Bred two year old horses also over 1100M where the winner will get $150,000.
The E Class event will see the horses sprinting over 1100M with the winner taking home $160,000.
The highly competitive G class event is over 1400M and the winner is set to cart off $140,000.
The H class event is for a winner’s money of $130,000 this time over 1400M.
The ‘I’ class event will be going for a top prize of $120,000 over a 1200M distance.
The final event is for I3 horses with one win and lower where the winner is set to receive $120,000 which is another 1100M sprint.
So far Pacesetters Banks DIH limited, Telephone giants Digicel, Jumbo Jet Auto sale and Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast have confirmed their participation through sponsorship for the event, with others expected to announce their involvement soon.
Other incentives on offer will be for champion jockey and champion trainer compliments of Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market.
Organizers Inshanally and Fazil Habibulla have promised an exciting day of horseracing.
The Races will be run under the rules of the Rising Sun Turf Club and entries close on September 12.
