Police on the East Coast of Demerara are on the hunt for two carjackers who created mini chaos in the district early Saturday morning, resulting in a taxi driver and two females having to be treated at the Georgetown Hospital for various injuries.
The men stabbed a taxi driver before relieving him of his car and then proceeded in a reckless manner, striking down the two females who were in their path as they made good their escape.
Kaieteur News understands that the two bandits had hired the taxi from Kitty to take them to Annandale on the East Coast of Demerara. This was shortly before midnight on Friday.
When they reached their destination they attacked the driver, stabbing him several times before taking away his cellular phone, cash and his car.
As they were making good their escape along the railway embankment they came upon a group of persons in the vicinity of Buxton and driving in a reckless manner, struck down the two women.
They continued their merry way until they abandoned the car at Coldingen.
Meanwhile, the wounded driver managed to make his way to the Vigilance Police Station where he reported the matter.
A police mobile patrol was immediately dispatched but they arrived on the scene where the car was abandoned mere minutes after the men had fled.
Police believe that the two men were responsible for another recent robbery in the same area.
