Police on West Bank Demerara, swooped down on a house at Belle West, West Bank Demerara and arrested three persons after confiscating a quantity of cannabis.
Reports of the area state that around 10:00 hours on Sunday police conducted the search and found the prohibited substance in the back of a stereo set.
Three persons who were on the premises at the time were arrested and are expected in court some time later today.
Meanwhile, upon seeing the operation, several residents contacted this newspaper saying that as of recent the area has been a safe haven for persons cultivating cannabis.
Residents of the area said they are at their wits end with the mini drug trade that is being plied in their community.
