Minister congratulates ‘Lady Jags’ on Historical Feat
Minister of Sports Dr. Frank Anthony has hailed the achievement of the ‘Lady Jags’ as phenomenal following their qualification for the CONCACAF Gold Cup and becoming the first team ever to achieve such a feat.
Dr. Anthony said the Lady Jags displayed great heart, determination, discipline and the will to achieve.
“Your win by a 3-1 margin against the Cubans after being one goal down and having lost the first leg game in Cuba sums up my belief and that of the nation that you are true warriors and you deserve all the praise.”
“As you grow and develop further we wish you continued success. My government will continue to give you and the Football Federation the required support you need going forward.”
“The Nation will continue to follow your progress closely as you continue to keep the Golden Arrowhead aloft.”
Minister Anthony stated that it is his wish that the win will stimulate and motivate young sportsmen and women to work hard in their quest to achieve.
