GCF hosts successful Olympic Day BMX meet

Winners All!!! Prize winners at the GOA Sponsored GCF organised BMX Meet display their trophies at the National Park yesterday.
The Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) yesterday joined many of its sister associations when they hosted a BMX 5-race Cycle Meet at the Inner Circuit of the National Park in observance of Olympic Day, 2010. Ozia McCually triumphed in emphatic style in the open 3-lap race out hustling the competitive field to win comfortably. He outsprinted Kwesi Headley and Ray Millington in that order.
O’Neal Leitch rode a smart race to beat Adrian Sharmar in the 9-12 race; Sharmar led for most of the three laps but was overtaken by Leitch with about 800m to go and was not able to catch the winner.
Ashley Anthony was the top 6-12 girl. Randy Haynes was number one in the 12-14 clash crossing the line ahead of Darius Ramsammy and Julio Melville while the 6-9 winner was Christopher Boyce followed by Dineshwar Ragubeer and Sylvan Lewis.
GCF Executive Member Cheryl Thompson distributed the trophies to excited riders and complimented them for turning out in their numbers to participate in the Guyana Olympic Association sponsored event.
