With a vibrant structure, Malteenoes Sports Club proved at the last Independence Table Tennis Tournament that concluded last week at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall that it is rapidly returning to the days when it was a force to reckon with in the sport.
Under the watchful eyes of Coach, Lisa Lewis, Malteenoes was the best young team on show at the event. They were uniformed and chalked up some major serves with Jeremy Singh winning the Under-10 title leading a host of young title holders.
But the biggest result of the club came from Chelsea Edghill, who won herself five titles and an overwhelming sum of $50,000 for her heroics. Her tactics is expected to decentralise the sport in Georgetown from the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
