Ahamd Ally, who allegedly forged a land transport and later sold the plot of land to two different people appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
The allegation was that Ally, on March 24, last, with the intent to defraud, uttered a forged transport to Lolchand Persaud, which was allegedly issued by the Registry.
Another charge stated that Ally, with the intent to defraud, obtained $3.5M from Persaud, claiming that he was a position to sell a plot of land at Turkeyen Access Road.
The last charge stated that Ally, between March 17 and March 24, last, conspired with person or persons unknown to forge one transport, by inserting his name.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges levelled against him.
His lawyer, Vic Puran, in a bail application said that he had paid Persaud $1.2M so far.
However, Persaud told the court that he never received any money from Ally.
Police Prosecutor Stephen Telford, objected to bail and said that Ally was charged previously with the same offense.
The prosecutor added that Ally sold the same plot of land to various parties. Ally’s lawyer interjected and said the persons buying the land had to be crazy.
“My worship a plot of land at UG access road cost nearly $60M and you are buying it for $3M? You have to be crazy” said Puran.
The Magistrate remanded Ally on that charge. Almost three weeks ago Ally was slapped with a similar charge when he appeared before the same Magistrate.
He allegedly obtained $4.2M from another couple when he sold them the same plot of land, at Turkeyen. He was placed on $1M bail on that charge.
