Competition in the 2010 BFA, Coca Cola sponsored Snr KO Football Tournament continues today with a double header at Blairmont Community Centre ground starting at 14:00hrs.
Monedderlust FC come up against Strike Force United in the opening contest, while at 16:00hrs, Cougars FC oppose Hopetown United.
The tournament opened last weekend at the Blairmont ground, and even though the ceremonial march past at the opening could not be held due the heavy rain and a soggy ground, one match was eventually played.
As it turned out Coca Cola League Champions New Amsterdam United adapted better to the heavy ground conditions to inflict heavy punishment on Rosignol Warriors, hammering them by 12 goals to nil.
It was 5-0 at the halfway point with Colin Bowry 4th minute, Kelvin Joseph a double in 14th and 19th, Leonardo Adams in 20th and Adrian “Garnett” Adams 33rd starting the rout.
The score eventually ended at 12-0 as seven more were converted in the second segment.
As early as the 45th minute, Kelvin Joseph completed his hat-trick, Leonardo Adams then thumped in his second in the 46th, Delroy Ferdinand scored in the 60th, Leonardo Adams then completed his hat-trick in the 63rd min, while Adrian Adams then blew away the opposition scoring at will to complete a helmet-trick with goals in the 67th, 69th, and 77th minutes.
