Dear Editor,
The current massive clean-up campaign is definitely noticeable. The drains are being cleared, the parapets are being shorn of debris and the thoroughfares look ‘foreign’ by the new appearance. Well done, Minister Benn!
However, eyesores are still evident in certain areas along the Railway Embankment. If anyone takes the time to check areas such as Buxton and Bareroot have shacks, the outer walls of which are very near to the edge of the Embankment Road. Little children are seen running onto the roadways which has now become their playfield.
I wonder what measures the Honourable Minister will take to remove these shacks and thereby the constant probability of a fatal mishap. I have noted the successful haste in getting residents in certain communities to come off the reserve. I wish the Honourable Minister similar success in Buxton and Bareroot.
