Local cyclists will hit the streets again on Sunday, this time it’s for the Carlton Wheelers Cycle Club organised 65-mile road race starting in the city to the Linden Soesdyke Highway and return to the city for the finish.
According to a release from the club, the race will commence at 07:30hrs at 123 Albert Street, proceed to Church Street into Vlissengen Road, Homestretch Avenue, Mandela Avenue, East Bank Highway to Linden turning back at Dora before returning to Homestretch Avenue for the finish.
Veterans and upright riders will turn back the Yarrowkabra Police Station to end at Homestretch Avenue. The first six (6) finishers overall, three (3) juniors and veterans and two (2) upright competitors will receive prizes. Ten (10) prime prizes will also be at stake during the course of the battle.
The event is sponsored by Lochan Persaud and Rayman Khan and cyclists are reminded to wear their club jerseys.
