The 2009 New Building Society Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition organised by the Berbice Cricket Board resumed recently.
Former Berbice opening batsman Moshin Peerkhan registered the highest score of the competition when she slammed 198 not out batting through the entire 40 Overs of the innings for Port Mourant against Sliver Star. His knock which included 20 fours and 6 sixes helped Port Mourant amass 344 for 3 in their 40 Overs. He dominated the opening stand of 186 made in 20 Overs with Tony Mc Kenzie (66).
When Silver Star batted they ran up against the offspin of Bhojnarine Persaud whose 5 for 5 from 6.5 overs was the main reason for them being skittled out for 39 in reply.
