Host Essequibo gained first innings points from Berbice as play in the second round of the GTM sponsored three day U-19 inter county cricket competition continued yesterday at Anna Regina.
Resuming on the overnight score on 23-1, replying to Essequibo’s 192, Berbice were bowled out for 186 in 90.3 overs. Dominique Rickey top scored with 66 while Harrinarine Chattergoon made 29 and Lloydel Lewis 19. National U-19 left arm spinner Anthony Adams bagged 3-30 and got support from Rovindra Mohabir 3-55 and pacer Ronsford Beaton 2-32.
At stumps on the second day the host were 36-1 in 26 overs. Kevin Boodie is unbeaten on 15 and Christopher Boucher who missed the first round against Demerara due to studies is on 16 not out.
Herry Green (02) is the batsman back in the pavilion. He was LBW to Jamal LaFleur. Essequibo will go into the final day tomorrow with a lead of 42.
