Don’t be hoodwink and bamboozled by those smart politicians

Dear Editor,

Local Government Elections will soon be the reality that every citizen and resident of the various towns in our beloved country will be experiencing.

Many will agree that it was long over due, and its non existence for some time has caused many communities to suffer. Linden for example has been victim to a number of ills, such as unemployment, brain drain to name a few, despite its unique location to foster and maintain economic growth. A town with a river running through it, dividing its shores and where accessibility to all three counties is possible has not been able to access its true potential.

Word on the streets however, is that the old dogs are once again coming out from their slumber, wagging their tails in anticipation for the opportunities to fill their pockets, bite the biggest piece of the pie and wave the magic wand of power, are only a few months away.

My fellow Lindeners and countrymen, I hesitate not to caution you before you use your finger tips on that day. Do not be easily persuaded by well crafted sugar coated speeches and fall victims to empty promises. Don’t be hoodwink and bamboozle by those smart politicians, who I promise, will not be pellucid of their true intensions. Lindeners, choose leaders who will be selfless not selfish; considerate leaders who will be honest and candid with you; leaders who will lift you out of the hardships you now suffer; leaders who will accept their short comings and work harder to do better on their next attempt.

I implore you fellow residents, the decisions you make on that day will impact the days, months and years that follow.
