A fine allround performance by national U-17 player Herrel Green guided Queenstown to a 42 run victory over No.1 Affiance as play in the Imam Bacchus twenty/20 cricket competition continued on Sunday in Central Essequibo.
Green slammed 52 and got support from Akeel Wallace 23 as Queenstown rattled up 156-8 in 20 overs. Hemant Boodnee grabbed 4-23 for the visitors.
No.1 Affiance managed 114 all out in 19 overs. Ganesh Mangal scored 29 and Patrick Rooplall 18 as Green returned to capture 5-8 off 4 overs while Gandhi Brijmohan took 2-14 for the winners. The competition continues Sunday with No.1 Affiance hosting Imam Bacchus XI and Multi teachers facing Queenstown at Queenstown.
