Tracy hits half century, Garraway bags 6-7

A fine half century by Kellon Tracy and a six wicket haul by medium pacer Sean Garraway highlighted the latest round of matches in the Bartica Cricket Association twenty/20 competition played on Sunday at the Bartica Community Centre ground.
In the day’s first game Orient overcame Cavaliers by 7 wickets.  Cavaliers batted first and were skittled out for 62 in 14.2 overs.  Federicks made 18 as Besham Ahmad grabbed 4-1 and Curtis James 2-20.  Orient then responded with 63-3 in 8.3 overs.  Ahmad returned to hit 20 while Eon Premdas scored 18.  Essequibo left arm spinner Andrew Wong took 2-15 for Cavaliers.
In the second encounter Rising Star got the better of Untouchables by 8 wickets.  Untouchables took first strike and scored 112 all out in 16.2 overs.  Rudolph Mohabir got 17, while Garraway bagged 6-17 and Essequibo wicketkeeper batsman Kenzo Baksh took 2-17 bowling offspin.   Kellon Tracy led Rising Star’s reply with an unbeaten 82 while Yussuf Khan supported with 16 as they won the game in 8.2 overs ending on 113-2.  Shazaad Khan grabbed 2-14.
The competition continues on Sunday with Rising Star facing Hampshire and New Uprising doing battle with Orient.
