Orient beat rising star by 23 runs
Orient defeated Rising Star by 23 runs as play in the Bartica Cricket Association twenty/20 competition continued recently at the Bartica Community Centre Ground with one match.
Orient batted first and scored 176-9 off their allotted overs. B. Ahmad top scored with 60 while R. Algree supported with 28 and B. Daniels 19. Extras contributed 39 as Kenzo Baksh grabbed 3-23 and Eon Ferrier 2-16.
Rising Star in reply were bowled out for 153 in 18.3 overs. Kevin Federicks was their leading run getter with 38 while, Essequibo wicketkeeper batsman Baksh scored 30 and Kellon Tracy 24. R. Algree snared 3-17 and A. Ramdial 2-10 for the winners. The competition continues on Sunday.
