Mae’s’ ‘A’ team and Bishop’s High School are on a collision course for the U-13 final of Business School-sponsored Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) teams tournament after dominating their respective groups yesterday.
The Teams’ Table Tennis (TT) Championships heated up after strong performances from season campaigners, Kyle Edghill, Rajiv Muneshwar and Tiaria Narine in Group ‘A’ and Chelsea Edghill and Jamal Duff in Group ‘B’.
Representing Mae’s ‘A’, Kyle Edghill, Muneshwar and Narine defeated Queens College ‘B’ 3-0, Marian Academy 3-1, Dolphin Secondary 3-0 and St Joseph High 3-0 to set up what would be a pulsating U-13 final against Bishop’s High.
The Bishop’s pair of national juniors, Chelsea Edghill and Jamaal Duff was equally tough on their opponent as they whipped Queens ‘A’ 3-0, Mae’s ‘B’ 3-0 and St Margaret’s 3-0 to land them on a collision course with Mae’s ‘A’.
The semi-final and final in U-13 category is expected to be first up when the competition continues today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. The U-15 and U-18 playoffs have only reached the first round but will be completed today.
