Cut and Load wins Narine domino competition in Wakenaam

Newly formed Cut and Load domino club won the Ganeshram Narine domino competition played last Sunday at the Wakenaam Community Centre Pavilion in Good Success.
Cut and Load marked 78 games with Lakeram Cobeer and Mursaleen Ali getting 17 each and Abdool Salim supporting with 14. Underdog came second with 72 games while Seawall Boys placed third with 59.  Asif Ahmad chalked up 17 games for Underdog while Suraj Harnarine also marked 17 for Seawall Boys. The lovebirds were Ganeshram Narine of Underdog, Fidel Birbal of Cut and Load and Seawall Boys, Amit Ramnarine, Anil Ramrattan and Andrew Osborne.
Cut and Load received the first prize of $8,000 while runner up Underdog collected $2,000. Asif Ahmad who executed two loves took the competitions most valuable player award.
In the first round played Underdog came out victorious ahead of Cut and Load and All Star while Seawall boys drew the bye to the final.
Scores: Underdog 85 games (Ganeshram Narine 18, Krishendat Hansraj 16, Anand Dhanyshure 15); Cut and Load 77 games (Shafdar Ali 16, Fidel Birbal 15, Lakeram Cobeer 15); All Star 61 games (Tom Singh 13, Mohamed Kalam 13, Khemraj Surujpaul 11).  The lone love bird was Vijay Persaud of All Star. Meanwhile, the Wakenaam Domino Association held its election after the said competition and the following persons were elected to serve as office bearers:
Tom Singh - Chairman, Anand Dhanyshure – Vice Chairman, Asif Ahmad Secretary, Vickraj Ramdhani – Treasurer and Mustak Mohamed Public Relations Officer.
