Monar Educational Institute retained their Al Sport & Tour Promotions Inter Secondary Schools Mixed team Circle Tennis title after defeating L’Aventure in the final played recently, at the Carifesta Sports Complex.
In the 55 deliveries contest, Monar after being invited to the circle first made 277 all out with MVP (Male) of the tournament Selwyn Williams 98, Stoffen Samrah 37 and Clive Duke 22, being the principal scorers.
L’Aventure in their turn in the circle was restricted to 233-14 when their deliveries ran out. Mark Stanley 54, Travis Harding 46, MVP (Female) Oliva Douglas 17.
Earlier, in semi-final action, Diamond beat L’Aventure.
Diamond made 167-14, Devon Giles 74, Tyron Jacobs 26 Candacey Byrne 20 and Marcia Brathwaithe 20.
L’Aventure in reply, reached170-5 with Deamon Sertima 51, Xauier Rodney 23, Neil Redmond 20 and Natalie Joseph 13, the chief contributors.
Earlier, in quarter-final play, L’Aventure beat Monar (Region #3).
Monar Educational Institute Region #3 compiled 204 all out with Mark Gonsalves 82, Navindra Persaud 29, Tennifer Gobin 15, and Janelle Vanslytman 12.
L ‘Aventure knocked of the required target, ending on 205-4, Dayne Paul 57, Travis Harding 50, X. Rodney 24.
Monar (Georgetown) then defeated Covent Garden.
Monar 219-9 Nikisha Howell 35, Steven Roberts 24 Selwyn Williams 18, Amied Rafeek 23.
Covent Garden Secondary in reply, 188-11. Rajendra Persaud made 39 and Devon Benjamin 20.
The three-day tournament was organised by Sport Officer A Munroe.
