Bauxite Company Rusal has for the 4th successive year supported the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation ensuring the year end football extravaganza succeeds.
Finance Director Ramdeo Kumar in handing over a cheque to the organisers yesterday at their Foreshaw Street Office related his company’s delight at being on board with Guyana’s number one tournament, again.
Rusal is a central employer in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden which made Rusal’s contribution an easy task according to Kumar. “Since Kashif and Shanghai has a genesis in Linden we just thought it fitting for us to be involved in football which contributes to the development of sports.”
Rusal, he said is not only about producing Bauxite and Aluminum, but it’s also about the development of its people and sports. “It’s always been a pleasure for us to be involved in football in whatever way we can.”
One of the 20 teams competing in this year’s competition is fully sponsored by Rusal and the company will continue to maintain their commitment in this regard according to Kumar.
Apart from the company’s contribution to the Kashif and Shanghai tournament, they also undertake all transportation bills the team incurs during the tournament.
Kumar also noted that they are hoping to increase the level of sponsorship towards the tournament in the ensuing years.
Kashif Muhammad noted his organisation’s appreciation to Rusal for their continued commitment not only to K&S but to the overall development of football and sports in Guyana.
