Miss Guyana 2009, Imarah Radix, might not be the tallest local beauty to ever enter the Miss World competition, but from a field of 120 world beauties she has made it through three rounds of the talent contest with her rendition of the song ‘At Last’.

She was also featured on the cover of the Sunday Times, a newspaper in Johannesburg last Sunday.
This Grenada-born lady who grew up between the Spice Isle and Guyana before winging off to London to study, was also photographed in one of the Guyanese designer, Rhonda Dunbar’s, creations at a gala reception in Abu Dhabi.
The ladies flew to the Eastern Cape and are staying at the Radisson overlooking the beach.
Miss Guyana also competed in the sporting events which commenced yesterday. These followed a gala dinner on Monday night.
While Guyanese have expressed mixed reactions to this young lady as the country’s beauty ambassador, Grenada, the land of her birth, has embraced her and is publishing stories about her. That country has no representative at the pageant this year.
