Zeelandia defeated Sans Souci Jaguars by 6 wickets when play in the Busta 40 overs cricket competition continued on Saturday last on the Island of Wakenaam.
Playing at the Wakenaam Community Center Ground the Jaguars batted took to the crease first and were dismissed for 125 in 30 overs. Charles Benajamin top scored with 38, Javed Khan 35 and Tulsieram Ramadeen 20 as Ricardo Adams, Darmindra Pooran and Nandcomar Boodram took 3 wickets each.
Zeelandia in reply cruised to 126-4 in 22 overs. Ajay Ghansham was their leading run getter with 49 while Navishaul Pooran contributed 40. Olwin Paton grabbed 2-20 for the Jaguars in a losing effort.
Over at the Noitgedacht ground the scheduled game between the home team and Good success and at the Zeelandia ground the contest between Sans Souci and Maria’s Pleasure were both completely rained out.
Scores in previous matches; At Noitgedacht, Sans Souci 142 all out in 26 overs; Oyono Sampson 41, Vickram Ramnarine 39, Altea Newark 2-21, Tim Robertson 3-15, Deonarine Persaud 2-20, Mohamed Hassan 2-18. Noitgedacht 113 all out in 22 overs. Anthony Osborne 25, Vickram Ramnarine 5-22, Oyono Sampson 3-15.
At Wakenaam Community Center Ground Good Success defeated Sans Souci Jaguars by 52 runs. Good Success 161 all out in 29 overs; Abdool Salim 43, Nazeer Mohamed 21, Imran Khan 20, Moin Khan 4-23, Olwin Paton 4-20. Sans Souci Jaguars 109 all out in 30 overs; Gladwyn Henry 22, Wazir khan 3-15, Nazeer Mohamed 3-3 , Imran Khan 2-18 and Abdool Salem 2-8. (Zaheer Mohamed)
