The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), in collaboration with the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports, will hold a Press Conference at the Providence Stadium at 2:30 pm today to mark the signing of an Agreement between the Central American & Caribbean Sports Organisation (CACSO), the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) and the North American & Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA), appointing Guyana as the host of the XXI Central American & Caribbean Games 2010 Rugby Sevens Tournament.
The GOA and the GRFU will be hosting a visiting delegation from CACSO and the International Rugby Board (iRB) in the persons of Prof. Luis Padavoni, Asst. Technical Director of the CACSO Technical Commission, Mr. Keith Joseph, CACSO Technical Commission Member and Mr. Tom Jones, Regional General Manager, iRB, to inspect the Providence Stadium, accommodation and other facilities in Guyana for the holding of the Games.
The Press Conference will be hosted by the Minister of Culture, Youth & Sports, Dr. Frank Anthony, the President of the GOA, Mr. Juman-Yassin, and will be attended by the visiting CACSO and iRB delegation.
