Every day bucket does go to de well one day de bottom gun drop out. For years Guyana was always calling de shot when it come to foreign aid to de country. De Americans announce that they giving Guyana some money but dem would have strings.
Guyana mek nuff noise and de Americans would suck dem teeth and still give de money. It was de same wid de British and de Canadians.
Well de game run out because de British promise Guyana some money—nuff money. Guyana feel good but it want de cash in hand. De British seh that dem gun spend de money.
Guyana done draw up a plan and when de British seh that dem insist on spending de money things fall through.
Dem boys know that in every case, de people giving de money does back down. De British tek de same money and give somebody else. Dem boys seh that when you give and tek back you does get cat boil.
If wasn’t fuh one thing, de whole Cabinet woulda walk over to de British embassy and beat de High Commissioner.
Robert, of Congress Place, done prepare fuh talk bout de thing at he press conference. He done decide that de Government did plan to thief some of de money and he gun tell de press conference that.
Luncheon will tell he press conference that de British spiteful, that dem know Guyana was glad fuh de money and dem decide to keep it.
But wha gat dem boys worrying is how de plan could change so. Guyana wanted de money fuh train de police; de British want dem fuh train de police, de army, de Salvation Army, de Boy Scouts and de People’s Militia.
Dem, boys now betting that de government station gun stop showing BBC.
Talk half. Lef half.
