Division one leaders in the city Riddim Squad has replaced Flamingo who were drafted in following the withdrawal of defending champions Alpha United for the 3rd Annual NAMILCO Football Festival which gets cracking this evening at the Tucville ground.
Organisers, Fruta Conquerors Football Club drafted in Riddim Squad following some rumblings where persons felt that Riddim Squad should have been the first choice following Alpha’s withdrawal.
Riddim Squad will face the tough task of taking out Pele who will have the services of their leading marksman, Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson. Along with the likes of Travis ‘Zorro’ Grant, Shemroy Arthur, Dirk Archer, Solomon Austin and Okeny Fraser, Pele will be going all out for victory against a side that will not go down without a fight.
Riddim Squad’s challenge would be led by Amos Ramsey and the Hope brothers Sceyon and Sheldon.
Tonight’s opening clash will see Sunburst Camptown taking on Uprising in what is anticipated to be a fierce battle. Omali Nassy, Daniel Favourite and Freeman Fordyce will lead Uprising’s quest for victory while Camptown’s challenge will centre on Nigel ‘Powers’ Codrington, Troy ‘Bugs’ Prescod, Telson McKinnon, Richie Richards, Reshawn Sandiford and Captain Orlando ‘Cracker’ Gilgeous.
Only winners will advance. Kick off time is 18:00hrs.
