CEO of CIOG Sheikh Moeen receives the cheque from Kioon Khan of the Canadian Islamic Foundation

The Canadian Islamic Foundation liaison, Kioon Khan, donated C’dn$15,000 to the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG, yesterday. This was the second donation; the first was in 2008.
According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shiekh Moeen, “The contributions would be utilized in the purchase of text books, school accessories, tuition fees and transportation of these children to and from their respective schools, and we are most thankful for this donation.”
The CIOG embarked on a plan to make education accessible to the poor and underprivileged, while developing a motto, “reaching the unreached” regardless of colour, religion or background.
Kioon Khan said that he brings greetings on behalf of the Canadian Islamic foundation and is pleased to see the progress of the various educational Islamic foundations, and I am here to continue this process of donation.
Khan further stated to Kaieteur News, “I am 75 years old and had done these works on different levels and left the country since 1972 and returned last year. The hospitality and love is still here, although this task is a gigantic one and it requires our collective efforts to develop the country and its young minds.”
