As a result of the Customs House Broker Profession being viewed as a vital link between importers/exporters and the GRA, the Guyana Revenue Authority hosted a five-day Customs Broker Training Workshop, which commenced on September 14, last.
The workshop, which was conducted at the Rupununi Room of Hotel Tower, was done in an effort to ensure the competence and knowledge about the roles and responsibilities of Customhouse Brokers.
The training workshop was implemented by GRA not only to train and educate potential Customs brokers but also to enhance the Custom services provided to the nation by the Guyana Revenue Authority.
Importers/Exporters should also benefit, since the services provided will be of a much higher level and standard.
The participants of the training workshop came from all walks of life and various ages. However, those desirous of becoming licensed Custom House brokers must be 18 years and older.
They must also be knowledgeable of the custom laws, the associated laws and the regulations and procedures they entail.
The Guyana Revenue Authority wishes all participants of its’ Customs House Broker Training Workshop the best of luck in their examinations to become licensed brokers.
