All systems are in place for the world title showdown between Shondell ‘Mystery Lady’ Alfred and Corinne van Ryck DeGroot and the respective boxers have intensified preparations for the history making card scheduled for September 26.
In an effort to ensure that all of the logistics are addressed, the S&S and HEP Promotional groups have also intensified efforts to provide boxing buffs with a qualitative card.
his feat is only accomplishable with the help of the corporate community as, without such input, all of the promoters’ efforts would simply dwindle to naught. So it was indeed heartening news when several corporate entities decided to pitch in with viable packages.
Media operatives were very busy Monday afternoon last tracking the promotions team as they visited several business places to collect promised packages.
The promoters first stopped at Guyoil Headquarters in Waterloo Street where Brand Manager, Leonard Khan presented the group with a substantial sum to offset their huge expenses.
Shortly afterwards, the promoters visited Nigel’s Supermarket, Robb and Light Streets, where Marketing Executive and Accounts Supervisor, Christopher Franklyn handed over a check to Carwyn Holland.
“We at Nigel’s Supermarket, in keeping with our corporate duty, are supporting this boxing card because of its quality and the organized manner in which the promoters are conducting their affairs,” Franklyn said.
He further reminded media operatives that his organization has been in the forefront where support towards the development of sports is concerned.
“We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the management of Nigel’s Supermarket even as we urge the public to continue to support your organization,” Holland responded.
The group then moved across to the offices of Abdul Auto Sales on North Road where two representatives of that firm, Ravera Haroon and Bebi Shazeeda Alli donated another substantial package towards the efficient promotion of the card, on behalf of Abdul Auto Sales.
Once again, Holland and Abdool relayed their gratitude saying that gestures of this nature make the difference in the lives of young boxers.
The promotions groups are consequently beseeching other members of corporate Guyana to pitch in with viable packages.
